This is my first attempt at Crowdfunding. I wish it were for something fluffy and daft like a Guiness World Record attempt at creating the largest ever vegetable samosa, but that will have to wait since a long-time fandom friend needs help.

In RL news, I am redecorating/renovating the house I bought last month. I want to do a long post about the books I've been reading and listening to, and the TV I've been flaking out to late in the evening (Slow Horses! Foundation Season 2! Murderbot!), but I have a score of tins of paint waiting for me, and they are cruel mistresses.

I know what you mean about the crowdfunding, my friends and I were recently raising money for a mate who's undergoing chemotherapy! I also wish it was for a nicer cause, but at the same time, it restores some of my faith in humanity to see people like you doing something so generous! <3 Best of luck to your mate!

I saw the appeal, and really hope both they're doing as well as possible (in the circumstances). I'm afraid I let it slip off my radar, as I am all too wont to do -- do you still have the link to the page?

It's great that people are so willing to chip in and help.

One of the strangest things is the need to override my 'be wallpaper' instincts. Instead, going round promoting the page as much as possible wherever I think there might be interest or sympathy.

Thank you! He's already started with the chemo course and he's in good spirits! <3 We've already had the raffle and raised some money... not much, but it's symbolic, a way to let him know that people have his back.

The short version is that her son's lawyer pulled out suddenly last week a few days before the hearing -- Kat anticipated this drawing out the process
